so it's so long cape town city centre and hello country life in stanford village!
a bit anxious for the life change but also a bit relieved. was carrying both places for
8 months and it wasn't sustainable. nice to be a homeowner again. blessed to find such
a cool pad. and stanford is sophisticated and chill. The Piazza suite 905 was great while
it lasted but alas, i'm no longer a townie. have always been a cityphile, i loved living
in DTLA and cape town is a perfect sized city, walking everywhere. but happy to have a
home and a new experience. but will COTW (citizen of the world) be less of a COTW now that
he has roots???? FYI and BTW...since 1996 i have moved at least every 2 years, sometimes
more. so to be settled feels good and almost awkward. a permanent home? really? well...
still waiting on the Home Affairs permanent residency permit and now with my current
visa expiring 8 sept, i've retained the services of a proper immigration attorney to help with
a 4-year retiree visa with the right to do freelance work. that's the plan anyway. will be
relieved to say the least to have my immigration sorted! my current application is now
18 months on appeal. a slow torture of wait. so we'll try something new. a new way perhaps.
i had an intern come from the States for 2 weeks. Hudson Packman. high school grad
keen to learn screenwriting and filmmaking. so we polished his short screenplay and made
a short film. in a week! such good fun! used local kids for the cast and crew and got to
use my gear to hopefully make something pretty. we had a blast!

CAMINO IS NEXT!
next for me is Spain! wow, 800kms across spain on the camino de santiago.
if you're curious, rent The Way. a cute film about the camino by Emilio (there's
only one emilio). should take about 6 weeks. i'm pretty chuffed about the trip. COTW
gets to stretch his legs a long while! 20-25kms a day. the next blog will be my Camino
blog! and i might do an inner circle WhatsApp group for daily photos if you're keen.
lemme know! i love traveling and taking photos and Spain should be absolutely stunning.
old medieval villages, unspoiled countryside, and an unbelievable chance to take 6 weeks
off and just walk everyday! they say it takes a week to get fit and hopefully with no blisters,
it will be a walk in the park. the training is a bit boring i confess having to backtrack everyday,
and on the camino no backtracking! a one of a kind adventure. with more caminos to do in
italy, france, japan, the alps, portugal, all over! maybe it'll be a yearly thing! just hope
i finish for now!
that's really all the gossip for now. always nice to write another blog chapter, make me realize
how blessed and lucky i am. how did i get here? so fortunate. thank you Jesus for giving me such
an extraordinary life. need to remain grateful. and i am. wow. i have so much and have had
such an amazing life. truly blessed!
TIME FOR PICTURES!
lots of pics this blog! and hopefully a chance to give you a picture of a part of the world
you've never seen and probably won't get the chance. i trust you all are well. write me
or WhatsApp me when you can +27 72 666 1895. love that app! keep in touch with me!
I can't say i miss the ole USA. loving western cape province! and stanford is a beautiful little
corner of the world. now some photos to see something new! thanks for sharing my
new life journey in africa! starting my 7th year now!
