off to Bangkok tonite on another swiss air red-eye, but here's a quickie blog. is it too soon? are quickie blogs okay or do you prefer the monthly updates instead? oh well, i gotta keep up with the flow. and the next blog will be southeast asia intensive! so here's the zurich update!
i've loved the freezing weather. so cold here. today i shot for an hour plus outside with no gloves and my hands were slow moving by the end. so cold. but invigorating. shot some nice zurich hero b-roll stuff and some stills. i needed more layers and gloves, but skipped them cuz i was working. bad call. i was deeply frozen, but found a nice bratwurst with hot mustard to warm me up and then a hot latte later at the cool central tram station. i literally just sat there and held my hot latte cup in my hands to warm them up. quite a contrast from nairobi on the equator. but viva le difference! the cold weather is fun for me. not so much for the locals! but this COTW is loving it.
been thinking more about the Citizen of the World concept...the COTW who sells/trades/gives everything away in order to gain the world in exchange, to gain everything back. but in triple-fold.
i have gained so much more in return. since i left LA oct 2011, i've seen addis ababa, kimpala, kigali, juba, lamu, lewa, kisumu, diani, malindi, dubai, singapore, auckland, zurich, and now bangkok and cambodia for 9 days! such an adventure of a lifetime. and it's almost becoming routine!
and why? because i risked it all? well i certainly have put myself in a good position to do wild things, and worldly travel has been one of the things that has come my way. some of it for pay, some i pay, and some of it others are paying for. and then in late april i go to israel for 2 weeks, so more exotic blog entries to come! but the good fortune? am i being rewarded to sticking my neck out? for chancing it all? IDK, but it's been the best ride imaginable and i'm very glad i left home for the unknown!
but now let's finish the Zurich part of this blog with some more pics!
it bugs me the photos are in such a random order jumping all over the place, but i can't control it. so, go with the flow. you get what you get and you don't get upset!
oh, and there may not be much wifi in phenom penh so who knows when the next blog will be, but i'm back in zurich mar 9th and the wifi here is 18mbs so it's super easy to navigate the web! and update africa blog!
koh kong is where i'll be on the coast in cambodia after phenom.
google it and see where i'll be!
ciao for now!
xoxo
