HOME AT LAST

DIALING IT IN...

after 6 months of flopping here and there, COTW (Citizen of the World) finally has his

own crib and after 3 weeks of intense remodeling, it's looking as hoped...a cowboy

safari motif. and poa sana...very cool! here are some pics, but the african vibe surrounds

me all around on the outside...the flora and the fauna and the whole world!

let's get to some pics...in random order. i am so happy to be here, and imagine i'll be here for a long long time. 

master bedroom. still needs a bed! cheetah curtains were a fashion risk!

finally did a load of wash today... but the neighbors see my clothesline dismissively..."only all black clothes?
who he is, some arty type from LA??" well, er, uh, yeah, i guess so. busted. 

a friends house i was at today. kenya beauty.

the stable/dutch doors helped set the tone. i added 2 more. love the feel.

another stable door into lorella's micro office. semi-privacy for her and we can still talk!

giraffe print curtains in the kitchen and under counter incandescent tube bulbs on a dimmer. pimpy.
plus we added flagstone counter tops. 

veranda view from the kitchen. added papyrus ceilings all around. give it that thatched roof look. 

living room with hidden slim tube lights. afraid to add furniture and kill the gallery/club vibe!
the sealed concrete floors look amazing. a trick i learned from my DTLA loft.

now you see why i call this place The Stable.

i have a great bathroom and shower.

so...i'm finally home. very blessed to have a conducive live/work space in nairobi. salama sana (much peace)
now that the fundis (workers) are done. it has a great feel. i really landed in a sweet place. exceedingly
abundantly more than i could i imagine. : )
